Athletics Accomplishments

Penn High School student-athletes have excelled in Indiana High School Athletic Association competition. 

At the foundation of our success is our commitment to the well-being of our student-athletes. They are students first, athletes second. The high-caliber programs at Penn High School provide many opportunities for our student-athletes to develop academically, while also competing and achieving success in our sports programs.

State Championships

Penn High School student-athletes have brought back the team state championship trophy in 24 Indiana High School Athletic Association sports. Kingsmen boys sports teams have won 12 state championships, and Kingsmen girls sports teams have won 11 state championships.

Penn’s state championships:

  • Baseball (6): 1994, 1998, 2001, 2015, 2022, 2023.
  • Boys Soccer (1): 1999.
  • Football (5): 2000, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1983.
  • Girls Basketball (1): 2016.
  • Girls Golf (4): 1994, 2002, 2004, 2005.
  • Girls Soccer (2): 2016, 2017.
  • Softball (2): 1999, 2023.
  • Volleyball (2): 2010, 2011.
  • Wrestling (1): 2015.

IHSAA Mental Attitude Award Winners

The IHSAA Executive Committee presents the Mental Attitude Awards to the outstanding senior participant in each classification of boys and girls state championships.

The recipients of these awards, who were nominated by their principals and coaches, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability in basketball. Presenting sponsors, which include the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever, donate a scholarship to each school in the name of the recipient.

Student Parking

Parking passes are issued through Student Services throughout the year.  Students are restricted to parking in specific areas on campus.  Find directions, guidelines and consent forms on the Student Parking page.

Change of Address Information

A home address in the data base can be changed with two proofs of residency.  See Fran Haughee in Student Services.

Lost and Found/Theft Report

Students who have lost personal property should check at the Lost and Found in the IMC (Instructional Materials Center).  

In addition, students can click here to file a Personal Property Loss/Theft Report, or they can file one in Student Services.  Any electronics that are found are given to the Student Resource Officer (SRO) on duty.

Bullying/Harassment Report

Any student who has been threatened or bullied should come directly to Student Services, report it to the dean, and fill out a form detailing the incident. 

Drug/Alcohol Tests

All drug testing, random and otherwise, is conducted in the nurse’s office.   

Alternate Drop-off/Pickup for School Bus Riders

You can request that your student be dropped off or picked up at an alternate location within the school corporation boundaries.  Contact Fran Haughee in Student Services at (574) 258-9524.

Duplicate Communications

In cases of shared custody, you can request that all communications from the school be sent separately to both parents/guardians.  Contact Fran Haughee in Student Services at (574) 258-9524.

Court/Legal Custody/Protective Orders

Student Services keeps copies of court documents regarding legal custody and protective orders to ensure that communications between school and parents/guardians take place with court-approved individuals.

Legal custody and protective orders governing students can be updated or changed only by presenting current court documentation.  Contact Fran Haughee in Student Services at 574-258-9524; fhaughee@phm.k12.in.us.

Student Handbook

The Student Handbook has been developed to provide students and parents with an understanding of the school’s operating policies and procedures, which have been developed in accordance with the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation’s Policy and Procedure Manual.

Parents are strongly encouraged to support the school’s efforts to develop students as lifelong learners who demonstrate creativity, analytical problem solving, and positive social, emotional and healthy life skills.

Positive Behavior Support

Positive Behavior Support is a research-based program that allows us to work with teachers, students and parents to create success for all students.

Student Services

Student Services offers support across the spectrum to the students, parents and guardians, and faculty at Penn High School. Student Services is dedicated to keeping Penn High School a safe learning environment.

Students and parents can find information on topics ranging from parking passes, work permits, alternate bus pick-up and drop-off, and legal and custody issues.

The Student Services office is conveniently located through Door A,  in the main lobby just a few steps beyond the high school’s front office.

Chromebook repairs

Students who need Chromebook repairs or general help using their Chromebooks can report to the CSI office located in the IMC.  Students who have insurance will receive two hardware repairs at no cost.  Students without insurance or those who already used their two insurance claims will be billed for the cost of repair.  Insurance does not cover lost/stolen Chromebooks or anything charger-related.
