The aim of the Penn High School DECA Club is to build up the future entrepreneurs and business leaders and professionals of America. Students network and compete in several career clusters in business and marketing. We compete in business scenario competitions, participate in fundraisers, social activities and help local businesses.

Monday, Dec. 12, and Tuesday, Dec. 13
6:30-8 p.m.
Showcase allows prospective and current students to explore the learning opportunities that the Academies at Penn High School offers students.
Showcase is an opportunity for current eighth-grade students to get acquainted with Penn and plan their schedules with required and elective classes for the 2017-18 school year.
Current freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be able to explore required classes and electives as they plan their schedules, and make decisions about which achievement academy to join.
SHOWCASE FORMAT

Welcome for eighth-grade families at 6:30 p.m. (Center for Performing Arts).

Welcome for freshmen, sophomores and juniors and their families at 6:45 p.m. (Studio Theater).
Following the welcome presentations, prospective students, current students and their families will have the opportunity to:

Tour the building on your own.
-
Visit classrooms and view presentations.
-
Visit Showcase sessions.
-
Visit the cafeteria.
-
Meet with Academy Leaders and visit information booths set up in the Sunshine hallway.
SPECIAL SESSIONS
-
Prospective Parent Question and Answer Session – Located in the IMC throughout the evening.

Early College Program – Presented in the CPA at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m by Danielle Black.

Honors/Dual Credit/ACP/AP Course Information – Presented in LGI-A at 7:15 p.m. by Ree Johnson, Candice Beeleart, Michele Ball.
SELF-GUIDED TOURS
Students/families will be encouraged to tour the building with the help of:

Maps marked with all Showcase Locations, including all Live Classrooms, and Session Locations.

Freshmen Mentors – Wearing their “Freshmen Mentor” T-Shirts for easy identification, and assigned to specific locations throughout the building to help families find session locations and Live Classrooms.

Other selected students – Selected by teachers and/or Academy Leaders to be in a designated spot to answer specific questions about classes or programs.
Visual Arts
Penn High School’s award-winning Visual Arts Department offers one of the most diverse selections of courses in secondary education in Indiana. Students have a choice of classes ranging from Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Digital/Graphic Design, 2D/3D Art, Jewelry Making, and Painting.
Penn is proud to showcase both local artists’ and Penn students’ artwork in the Kingsmen Gallery, which is open daily during school hours and is located in “Kingsmen Hallway” across from the auxiliary gym.

Penn Kingsmen Art Gallery
The Penn Kingsmen Art Gallery showcases work by Penn High School students, as well as art by members of the community.
Gallery Guidelines:
- Ten students are allowed in at a time without a teacher, but must have a pass during class times.
- Seniors may enter through the courtyard door during lunch hours.
- Guests are asked to please sign in and leave a comment in the comment box.

Friends of the Library
Friends of the Library is a student led group that meets every other Tuesday after school in the library. This group’s mission is to promote the usage of the library and implement changes to the space that will benefit both students, faculty, and the Community.
Projects include:
- creating surveys to generate data of student and staff needs.
- reorganizing the book collection/sorting fiction by genre.
- presenting a report to school administration about library usage and student needs.

Media Center
The Penn High School Media Center is a multi-purpose, open-concept learning environment. The Media Center provides learning resources, as well as spaces for individual, collaborative, and blending learning.
