Updated information for the Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony
Penn High School has been given approval to allow four guests for each graduate for the Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony. Penn’s Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, at TCU Freed Field.
Commencement will be LIVESTREAMED on Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/pennharrismadison. The live feed will start at 6:30 p.m.
Click here for more details and more updated information on Commencement. Per the Governor’s Executive Order 21-15 and in accordance with the St. Joseph County Department of Health, P-H-M Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker communicated to families on June 3 that masks are now strongly recommended for Commencement. Students will wear masks while inside Penn High School prior to the ceremony, while processing to and from the field, and as they walk across the stage to receive their diploma. They will be allowed to remove them when socially distanced and seated on the football field. Families are strongling encouraged to wear masks while seated in the stands and to socially distance from other families, regardless of vacinnation status.
Admission to graduation is free-of-charge, but not open to the public. Seniors will be allowed to have four guests in attendance. These guests must have a ticket to attend graduation. This is a non-negotiable number, due to the maximum occupancy in the stadium. We understand this is not an ideal situation, but we need to do our best to follow health safety guidelines. Every person who attends as guests counts, including babies and children.
In the event of rain or severe weather on June 4, our commencement ceremony will be pushed back to Sunday, June 6. If Sunday's weather is projected to be severe in the evening, we will push the time up to earlier on Sunday. We will post this information on all of our social media platforms as soon as possible. If we have light rain on Friday or Sunday, umbrellas will be allowed. Guests and Graduates should come prepared to use personal rain gear if rain is in the forecast for Friday or Sunday.
If severe weather occurs during the ceremony, please follow the directives from Penn administration.
