Pennway/Alternative Education

As educators, we recognize that not all students experience success in the traditional school setting. An alternative setting and alternative approaches to instruction are options that may help them overcome educational barriers.

P-H-M offers two alternative education programs: Pennway Alternative Day School and Pennway Night School. Both programs are designed to provide students with the resources and support necessary to successfully complete a program of studies leading to a high school diploma, as well as obtain marketable work skills.

Both alternative programs are located at Pennway, 55985 Bittersweet Road, across from Penn High School and north of the Paul H. Schmucker Middle School.

Pennway Alternative Day School

Offers a program for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. This program connects to the corporation program at Penn High School. If students are employed or volunteer in the community, they may be eligible for additional credits.

Pennway Day Schedule:

Morning Class: 8:15-11:15 a.m.

Afternoon Class: 12:15-3:17 p.m.

*-Students may enter the building 15 minutes before classes begin.

The Pennway Alternative Day School is an extension of Penn High School and students are expected to adhere to the standards outlined in the Penn High School Student Handbook.
