Visual Arts

Penn High School’s award-winning Visual Arts Department offers one of the most diverse selections of courses in secondary education in Indiana. Students have a choice of classes ranging from Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Digital/Graphic Design, 2D/3D Art, Jewelry Making, and Painting.

Penn is proud to showcase both local artists’ and Penn students’ artwork in the Kingsmen Gallery, which is open daily during school hours and is located in “Kingsmen Hallway” across from the auxiliary gym.

General Art Courses: Intro to 2D Art (1 semester), Intro to 3D Art (1 semester), Advanced 2D Art, Advanced 3D Art

Miscellaneous Art Courses: Jewelry I/II, Printmaking, Art History I/II, AP Art History, Portfolio Exit Project, Gallery Docent (Student Assistant)

Ceramics Sequence: Ceramics I/II, Ceramics III/IV, Ceramics V/VI, Ceramics VII/VIII

Digital/Graphic Design Sequence (CTE credits, Dual Credit optional, Pathway optional): Principles of Digital Design, Digital Design Graphics, Graphic Design & Layout, Digital Design Capstone
