Playschool and Toddler Time offered at Penn High School
Hello,
Did you know Penn High School’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is preparing the next generation of educators? Led by Becky Wachs (pronounced ‘Wax’) and Kylee Wetzel, students dive deep into child development, mastering everything from lesson planning and behavior management to nutrition and first aid.
Through hands-on practice, students across all ECE levels plan and teach lessons for children of different ages in a safe, supportive environment. Below are opportunities in which you can sign up and join with your family!
Parent Panel: NEW for the 2026/27 school year. If you are currently pregnant or a parent of an infant or toddler and would like to be part of our new parent panel for our capstone students, Click here to sign up
Toddler Time: For children ages 1 – 3 and a parent or caregiver. It is led by the students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education classes and is designed to help them learn about the toddlers through direct interaction and observations. Offered in the winter, specific dates to come. It is FREE for the toddler and caregiver!
Playschool: For potty-trained children, ages 3-4 to prepare them for preschool and future kindergarten, one time $20 enrollment fee for snacks and supplies. Sign up for as many options as you like. Offered in the spring, specific dates and times to come but generally approximately one month long.
Playschool 2: For potty-trained children, ages 4-5, geared towards kindergarten. Student-led lesson plans with stations and routines. Offered for 20+ weeks of the school year. Cost ranges from $100-$200 per semester or $200-$400 per year.
