Li & Szklarek lead Penn Girls Golf effort at Western Invitational
Lyvia Li shot a 76 and Grace Szklarek shot a 77 to lead the Penn Girls Golf effort in the Western Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018.
Penn placed third with a season-best score of 339. Lafayette Jeff won the event with a score of 331, and Westfield took second with a score of 334.
Ryen DeToro shot an 87 for the Kingsmen, and Kate Burnett carded a 99.
Penn Girls Golf places fourth at Crown Point
Penn High School’s Girls Golf Team placed fourth in the Crown Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018.
Lake Central claimed the team title. Valparaiso placed second.
Lyvia Li led the Kingsmen effort with a 75.
Grace Szklarek carded an 80.
Ryen DeToro scored a 95, Megan Mounts scored a 98, and Hannah Urbanski scored a 106.

Penn Girls Golf places third at New Prairie Invite
Penn High School’s Girls Golf Team placed third in the New Prairie Invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. A total of 16 teams competed.
Valparaiso placed first with a score of 312. NorthWood was second at 332, and Penn carded a 346.
Lyvia Li and Grace Szklarek each shot a 77 to lead the Kingsmen effort.
Ryen DeToro shot a 94, followed by Kate Burnett with a 98 and Meghan Mounts with a 102.
Penn Girls Golf remains unbeaten in NIC
Penn High School’s Girls Golf team improved to 4-0 in Northern Indiana Conference matches with victories against Glenn and South Bend Adams on Monday, Aug. 6.
Penn finished with a score of 167. Glenn took second with a 197, and Adams was third at 205.
Grace Szklarek led Penn with a 36. Lyvia Li shot a 38. Ryen DeToro shot a 40, followed by Kate Burnett (50) and Meghan Mounts (52).
Round 3 of Dr. Thacker’s Popsicle Handout
P-H-M Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker handed out his last round of popsicles today (Thursday, Aug. 9) visiting Penn Boys Cross Country team early this morning at 8:00 after their morning workouts.
Later this afternoon, he dropped in to deliver frozen treats to Penn’s Cheerleaders as they began their practice. Click to see the photo gallery on the P-H-M District website.
Dr. Thacker began his 13th annual tradition last Friday, Aug. 3 and continued this Monday, Aug. 6 and fished up today. He handed out approximately 460 popsicles to the following Penn groups: Girls Cross Country, Boys Tennis, Marching Band, Volleyball, Girls Soccer, Boys Cross Country and Cheerleaders.

Round 2 of Dr. Thacker’s Popsicle Handout
P-H-M Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker brought some relief to some very grateful Penn student-athletes a hot and humid morning. Dr. Thacker delivered popsicles to the Girls Soccer players this morning (Monday, August 6) as they were winding up their early morning practice. Click to see the photo gallery below.
Penn Girls Soccer team, coached by Penn Athletic Director Jeff Hart, won their second straight state championship last year and also finished the year with a national championship title. The Lady Kingsmen are training for another stellar year.

Grace Szklarek shoots 75 to lead Penn at Kokomo Invite
Penn High’s Girls Golf team placed third at the Kokomo Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018. The Kingsmen posted a score of 363. Tipton placed first with a score of 343 and Kokomo placed second with a score of 358.
Penn’s Grace Szklarek placed third among individuals with a score of 75.
Megan Mounts and Makenna Jurkaites each shot career lows.

Penn placed fourth in the Leo Invitational, held on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018.
The Kingsmen finished with a score of 356. Homestead placed first with a score of 311, followed by NorthWood (337) and South Bend St. Joseph (355).
Lyvia Li of Penn placed second after a three-hole playoff for medalist honors.
