Penn Political Awareness Club

Sponsor: Dawn Troyer.

Mission Statement: To educate students on the importance of civic engagement, to empower students to be involved with the issues important to them, and to engage students with one another to promote healthy, bi-partisan discourse and discussion. 

Meeting Schedule: Bi-monthly throughout the first semester in Room 161/163, with specialty meetings as needed leading up to Election Day 2024. Second-semester meeting frequency will be determined at the conclusion of the first semester.

Possible Activities: 

• Current event discussion
• Connection with action committees and campaigns
• Elected official guest speakers 
• Promoting students to spread the importance of Registering to Vote
• Encouraging students to volunteer to become Poll Workers on Election Day
• Encourage healthy communication, political engagement, and civil involvement skills for life
