All Five of Penn’s ninth and 10th-grade Robotics teams competed in the FTC Northern League Championship this weekend (Feb. 1 and Feb. 2, 2020) at the South Bend Success Academy.

In a field of 22 teams, three of Penn’s Robotics teams were in the final match.

Penn teams Bravo Bots and Beta Bots earned League Championships, while another Penn team of all rookies was runner-up. This Qualifies the teams for semi-state action on Sunday, Feb. 29, in Lafayette.

On top of that, Penn’s Binary Bots Team won the esteemed “Think Award”, recognizing the team for its excellent documentation of the engineering design process. This also grants the Binary Bots Team a semi-state bid.

This was the strongest showing of Penn FTC teams since the inception of the ninth and tenth-grade teams. Penn’s teams are coached by Evan White.
