Penn Girls Soccer dominates Clay 9-0

Brooke Fuller and Allison Yergler scored two goals each as Penn beat South Bend Clay 9-0 on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Allison Funk, Marissa Million, Brooke Neal, Isabella Costa and Isabella Bumbaca scored one goal each.

Abbie Clay and Isabella Costa shared the shutout in goal.

Lynch scores twice as Penn Girls Soccer beats Munster 2-0

Kristina Lynch scored two goals to lead the No. 1-ranked Penn Kingsmen to a 2-0 victory against Munster on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Mackenzie Wood earned the shutout in goal.

Penn Girls Soccer shuts out Mishawaka 9-0

Penn overpowered archrival Mishawaka, 9-0, in girls soccer action.

Penn started strong in the first minute with a goal from Brooke Van Dyck off an assist from Sydney Egendoerfer.

Allie Lankowicz scored off an assist from Brooke Van Dyck to push the Kingsmen lead to 2-0.

Not long after that, the Kingsmen established a dominant lead at 3-0, thanks a goal from Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, with an assist from Kelsi Carrico.

With confidence levels high, the Kingsmen continued to show teamwork.

Maya Lacognato contributed an unassisted goal and two assist. Mary Kaczynski had two assists. McKenzie Blankenbaker, Carly Todd, Allie Lankowicz, and Mackenzie Wood scored goals as the Kingsmen built an 8-0 lead.

Penn finished off the 9-0 victory in the 78th minute as Regan Hart assisted Haylee Shahan for the final goal.

Atkins leads Penn Boys Soccer past Goshen

Sammy Atkins punched in two goals to lead the Penn Kingsmen to a 3-0 victory against Northern Lake Conference power Goshen on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Dorian Clayton also scored a goal for the Kingsmen.

Hayden Hurn contributed two assists to the Kingsmen attack, and Atkins had one assist.

Evan Mercurio earned the shutout in goal. Mercurio’s effort included a brilliant save on a penalty kick.

Penn Boys Soccer wins OT thriller vs. Elkhart Central

On Wednesday, August 30th the Penn Boys Soccer took on Elkhart Central at home and battled into extra time before locking up a 2-1 victory.

The Northern Indiana Conference game brought out many Kingsmen supporters as the game is always a close match. For the majority of the first half, the game was fairly even with both teams creating multiple chances.

In the 25th minute, Dorian Clayton scored off of a breakaway to give the Kingsmen a 1-0 lead.

The game continued to be close through the rest of the first half and most of the second. Toward the end of the second half Central managed to sneak in a goal to tie the game up 1-1.

Being a conference game, the match continued into overtime with a pair of seven-minute halves, and then a penalty shootout if the score remained a tie. Both teams retook the field and continued to play very physical wanting to come out with the win.

The first half of overtime the score remained the same with both teams being determined to get the victory, then late in the second half of OT a hand ball in the box by a Central defender lead to a penalty kick being rewarded.

Micah Craig drilled in the game-winning kick from the spot which gave the team a 2-1 lead, and ultimately a well deserved victory.

Harper’s hat trick leads Penn Boys Soccer vs. Clay

Jeffrey Harper scored three goals to lead the Penn Boys Soccer Team to a 10-0 victory against South Bend Clay on Monday, Aug. 28.

Micah Craig, Dorian Clayton, Philip Hartland, Kyle Van Ooteghem, Colin Stahl, Ryan Hague and Alex Karamitsos also scored goals for the Kingsmen.

Penn Boys Soccer beats Warsaw 3-0

Penn Boys Soccer played against Northern Lakes Conference Warsaw last Saturday and the Kingsmen were able to come away with a convincing 3-0 win.

Micah Craig scored two goals, and Sammy Atkins scored one goal.

The Kingsmen dominated the second half and were able to come away with a win as well as a shutout.

Craig’s three goals lead Penn past Mishawaka in Boys Soccer

The Penn Kingsmen Boys Soccer Team came away with a dominating victory against the Mishawaka Cavemen.

The score of the game was an impressive 11-1.

Micah Craig led the Kingsmen with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Marian defeats Penn 1-0 in Boys Soccer

Two-time defending State Champion Marian defeated Penn, 1-0, in Boys Soccer action on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Penn Boys Tennis posts 2-1 record at Culver

Penn’s Kingsmen posted a 2-1 record at the Culver Academy Tournament.

Will Thurin was 3-0 at No. 2 singles for the Kingsmen.

Aidan Sucharetza was 3-0 at No. 3 singles for the Kingsmen.
