Penn Girls Soccer Coach Hart honored by NFHS

Penn High School Soccer Coach Jeff Hart has been named the 2017-2018 Central Section Coach of the year for Girls Soccer.

Hart was nominated by the Indiana High School Athlete Association for the award, and named Indiana’s Girls Soccer Coach of the Year. The Central Sectional award, which includes Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin, is presented by the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Hart guided Penn to back-to-back State Championships in 2016 and 2017.  Penn has also earned six NIC titles, seven Sectional Championships and Four Regional Championships.

Penn was named the Top Drawer National Champion in 2017, and the Top Drawer National Runner-up in 2016.

Hart has coached 21 All-State players and 62 Academic All-State players.

Three of the players that Hart developed, played at Power 5 Conferences last season as Freshmen in 2018.

Kristina Lynch, who was named the National high school player of the year in 2017, helped Florida State win the National Championship in Women’s Soccer in 2018. Brooke Van Dyck played for Notre Dame, and Mackenzie Wood played for Northwestern.

Hart has a 125-18-13 record in seven seasons at Penn. He has two State Championships and one State Runner-up finish. The Kingsmen boasted a 50-game unbeaten streak (2016-2018). He has been named the Northern Indiana Coach of the Year five times, the District Coach of the Year four times, the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year twice, and the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Regional Coach of the Year twice.
