Penn runners shine at Penn Invite

The Penn Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams turned in exceptional efforts at the Penn Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 26.

 

The Penn Boys Cross Country Team just narrowly finished winning the championship. Homestead placed first with a score of 53, followed by Penn with 57 points.

 

Penn's top finisher was Colton Shail with a time of 16:53.75, good for second place. The next Kingsmen finisher was Chad Piatt, who placed fourth in 16:55.82. Curtis Cornell placed seventh in 16:59.85. Matt Long placed 21st in 17:31.57, and Chandler Neal was 23rd in 17:35.75.

 

Penn placed second in the JV meet. Homestead was first with 32 points, and Penn placed second with 43 points.

 

Ben Boardley of Penn was first in the JV meet with a time of 18:17.70.

 

Penn's Girls Cross Country Team placed fourth in the Penn Invite.

 

Lauren Frank led the Kingsmen with a third-place finish in a time of 19:36.24. Riley Keppler placed ninth in 20:15.18, and Dani Spring placed 20th in 20:47.57. Ellie Jankowski ran the Elm Rd. School course in 20:54.20 for 24th place. Brooke Neal was 27th in 20:56.92.

 

Penn's Girls JV Team won the JV Girls Championship with 20 points. Homestead was second with 50 points. Stella DiMarzio won the Girls JV Race with a time of 21:54.42.
