Penn celebrates Math Academic Super Bowl state title

Penn High School’s Math Academic Super Bowl team celebrated a state championship this season. 
 
Coached by Brad Grounds, Penn’s Math team placed first in the Warsaw Invitational, the Valparaiso Invitational, and the Mishawaka Invitational on the way to winning the state title at Purdue University.
 
Penn won the state competition by one point. There are 25 questions, and Penn scored 22 correct. Fishers High School was second with 21 correct.
 
Varsity team members are: Jack Bao (captain), Chris Yun, David Kim, Athreya Sundaram, Presto George, Mason Lee. Bao is a four-year varsity starter. 
 
"We had a very successful season this year,” Grounds said. “The state championship was a team effort, led by our captain, Jack Bao. Everyone on the team contributed to our success. I am proud of their work ethic, attitude, and steadfast commitment to their goals."
